IQHQ, the new owner and developer of the 27-acre site by the T-headhouse and Jerry’s Pit and Russell Field, is hosting a Public Meeting today, Wednesday, May 26, at 6:30 to 8pm. The meeting will be on Zoom. See below to get the Zoom link.
Window Closing on Public’s Ability to Shape Building Plans
We (the Alewife Study Group) believe that the window to influence IQHQ’s planned buildings, roads, traffic plans, parking, bike and pedestrian paths, flood storage, hazardous waste treatment, habitat, heat islands, etc., is closing. We *think* IQHQ will go to the Planning Board sometime in June. Generally, once a developer goes to the Planning Board, the public is much less able to shape the plans.
IQHQ *Is* Listening & Responding
Here’s the amazing thing, IQHQ has been listening!! Most Fridays since February 2021, IQHQ has met with combinations of neighbors from Reservoir Church, Friends of Jerry’s Pond, the Bicycle Coalition, Just-a-Start and Alewife Study Group (ASG) to hear our feedback on their plans. Typically, IQHQ comes back the following Friday with changed plans responding to our feedback. Of course, they can’t and don’t do everything, but they have done quite a bit. In ASG’s 26 years of experience this listening and responding is RARE.
Now is the time to make your voice heard!! Please come!! Just attending matters. If you feel comfortable, please speak during public comment. Please urge your neighbors and friends to come. Turnout matters! Your Voice Matters!!
