Mystic River Watershed Association
Water Cleanliness

Meeting, January 25 2001, Winchester Town Hall

The following is from an email sent January 12, 2001.

"Mystic River Watershed Association SPEAKER SERIES - BEGINS IN JANUARY!

Join us for the first in a series of monthly speakers that MRWA will be sponsoring throughout this winter. (Watch for information about upcoming speakers)

The waters on our ponds and lakes may be frozen, but come spring, many of us will be drawn to our urban waterways. How can we tell if the water is clean, without doing tests on it? What are the signs we should be looking for? What might be causing that strange color or odor? Are all oil sheens a problem? How about suds in water? Come on in out of the cold, and find out more about our waters. Cindy DelPapa, a stream ecologist, and Coordinator of the Urban Rivers Program, at the Massachusetts Riverways Program, will demystify water quality in our rivers and lakes.

Date: Thursday, January 25th, 2001
Time: 7PM
Place: Winchester Room, Winchester Town Hall (in Winchester Center)
