In October 2021, Haley & Aldrich filed its 4600-page “Draft RAM (Release Abatement Measure) Plan” for public comment. (Haley & Aldrich is the environmental science firm hired first by W. R. Grace decades ago and now by IQHQ to manage the hazardous waste at this 27-acre site.) The public had 45 days to comment. ASG read, analyzed and responded to the Draft RAM Plan in three letters addressed to IQHQ. You can read ASG’s three letters below. HUGE Thanks to neighbor and retired Hazardous Waste Assessment Remediation Engineer David Bass for his analysis.
Headline news? ASG is focused on tightening 3 aspects of the Draft RAM Plan:
- A fuller manufacturing history of loose asbestos fiber used at 62 Whittemore Ave.
- Tenting and Venting for the entire site
- Tighter asbestos air-monitoring rules
Haley & Aldrich is required to respond in writing to all letters submitted by the public by December 22, 2021. We will post their response here on our website.
