     Newsletter #19

May 30, 2022

Below are announcements from the City of Cambridge about meetings that neighbors may be interested in.

First, an important update: For many years, the Alewife Study Group (ASG)  has been advocating for a safer, easier way for Rindge Ave neighbors and others to cross the commuter rail tracks to Danehy Park and Fresh Pond Mall. ASG is pleased that at the recent Danehy Park Connector walk earlier this month, city officials said the City of Cambridge will pay to study a crossing, as part of the Danehy path project.  Let city officials know how important this connection would be, by attending one of the related events listed below, by taking their online survey, and/or by e-mail to ccreagh@cambridgema.gov.

Announcements:

  1. City Manager Finalists Forum – Tuesday, May 31 (TOMORROW)
  2. Linear Park Project Site Walk – Saturday, June 4

  3. Danehy-New St Connector Site Walk – Saturday, June 4

  4. Community Presentation Webinar on Danehy-New Street Connector and Linear Park Renovation – Tuesday, June 7
  5. Danehy Park Lemonade Social – Saturday, June 11

City Manager Finalists Forum – Tuesday, May 31, 6-9pm

The City of Cambridge is inviting the public to a Meet the Finalists forum on Tuesday, May 31st, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. in the Fitzgerald Theater located in the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. This forum is an opportunity for the public to meet the four finalists vying to succeed outgoing City Manager Louis A. DePasquale. The meeting will be broadcast live on Channel 99, and can be streamed on the web via Zoom.

During this forum, each finalist will present their vision for the City, answer questions, and meet members of the public. This is a great opportunity for the public to hear directly from the finalists selected by the Initial Screening Committee. See a list of the finalists and learn more by clicking here.
