Conservation Commission Hearings on Jerry’s Pond Improvements

Monday, December 18, 7:00pm, on Zoom (not in person)

The Cambridge Conservation Commission (ConCom) administers the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (310 CMR 10.0) for the City of Cambridge. This includes reviewing, permitting and inspecting projects in or adjacent to Cambridge’s wetlands, floodplains and water bodies.

ConCom’s review of IQHQ’s project will begin on Monday, December 18, at 7:00pm. IQHQ will give a short presentation, about 15 minutes, about their plans for Jerry’s Pond.

IQHQ’s presentation is scheduled for the beginning of the meeting. There are also four other items on the agenda, and the meeting is scheduled for 1 hour. So, the Alewife Study Group (ASG) does not expect that ConCom will discuss IQHQ’s plans very much or take public comment at this meeting.

ConCom will hold a longer follow-up meeting about IQHQ’s Jerry’s Pond plans on Monday, January 22, also at 7:00pm and on Zoom. This meeting should include ConCom questions of IQHQ, discussion among ComCom members and staff, and public comment.

In our next newsletter, hopefully soon, ASG will provide a link to view IQHQ’s application packet to ConCom. This will give a lot of information about IQHQ’s proposed plans for Jerry’s Pond.
