Friday, October 22, 5:30 pm – Conservation Commission Site Visit

Where: One Alewife Center (meet in main parking lot between the building and the T headhouse)

The Cambridge Conservation Commission will do a site visit about the IQHQ Redevelopment and Restoration Notice of Intent (NOI).

The public is welcome to attend, but public comment will not be open during the site visit. Public comment will be heard on Monday, October 25, at 7:00 pm during the public hearing.

Monday October 25, 7:00pm – Conservation Commission Public Hearing – on Zoom

This meeting will discuss the state-required “Notice of Intent” (NOI) for development in an area covered by the state’s Wetlands Protection Act. IQHQ’s consultant will present the plans for protecting wetland areas and controlling flooding and stormwater during and after development of the site.

Members of the Conservation Commission will ask questions of IQHQ’s consultant, and then members of the public can ask questions and make brief comments.

A good turnout of the community at the meeting is needed to show the Conservation Commission that people care about the site and that they should consider all options, not just those that might be presented by the developer.  The good turnout at the last meeting inspired the Conservation Commission to more thoughtfully consider the site compared to other development projects they’ve considered in the past.

ASG Newsletter: ASG will try to send email updates about once a month during this busy time in the development of the IQHQ site.

IQHQ is preparing to submit their application to the Planning Board soon, and they plan to have a community meeting by Zoom possibly next month.  ASG plans to have a community meeting one week after the IQHQ meeting, to allow neighbors to discuss their concerns in preparation for the Planning Board meeting.
